I like this type of day. It is very cousy and perfect for cooking and drinking wine. Unfortunately I have to work on my story that is due Tuesday. It is about the service industry concentrating in nail salons and the economy. Not fun. I wish I could be staying home and trying my new cook book, but well. I will do that later

I got it and I am ready to cook French food

I got the book Mastering the Art of French Cooking, and I am excited. My hubby already picked a recipe. He wants me to cook the Supremes De Volaille A Blanc (Breast of chicken with cream). Some of the ingredients for the sauce are Madeira port and brown stock. I am already imagining my self going to the market and buying everything for the dinner. I will be chopping vegetables, cutting the meat and losing myself in all the aromas that come while stirring the sauce and cooking the meat. Ahh and for my favorite part of the meal ( the dessert) I will be cooking a SOUFFFLE AU CHOCOLAT (chocolate souffle). Lets see how I do with French cuisine. I am leaving my comfort zone of mexican recipes to challenge myself in new ways. I think that I am going to make romantic dinners for my husband out of the practice of these french recipes. This is also a great excuse to invite more people over to my house and enjoy their company with good wine and good food.

There is no words for this. The only thing that comes to my mind is how beautiful this story is, and what love really looks like. These are the type of things that humble me and let me see how I do not know it all. Watching this gives me, in some way, the same feeling I had when I had to do my calculus homework. I had to think in a different way in order to understand and find the answer for the equation.

I so love the movie Julie and Julia. It is so cute and people like me who like to cook come out of it with so much inspiration to cook. I saw it a couple of weeks a go and after some thought, I decided to buy Julia Child’s book “Mastering the Art of French Cooking.” Do not worried. I am not that unoriginal. I am not going to start a blog about cooking my way to Julia Child cook book. I bought it because I like to try something else than my mexican specialties ( or than is what I think) and challenge my self with dishes I am not so familiar with. Lets see how in love i become with french food. To be honest with you, I will love to master Thai or any other Asian cuisine, but there is something about french food that is so elegant and homie that is attracting to me, but it also has a lot to do with the movie hahaha! lets see how it goes.
